Responsible ecotourism in the Sierra de Grazalema

Tambor del Llano is located in an area declared of special protection for birds by the European Union's Natura Network. The Sierra de Cádiz, with its formidable diversity of habitats, offers us the possibility of discovering a great variety of birds.

In the Natural Park of the Sierra de Grazalema live more than 200 species of birds. The most representative species in the Park is the griffon vulture (Gyps fulvus). Their flights are spectacular mainly during the mating season

  • MEDITERRANEAN FOREST. Ancient forest of holm oaks inhabited by Iberian green woodpeckers, short-toed eagles or by the always flidget Sardinian and Dartford warblers.

  • HIGH MOUNTAINS AND CLIFFS. The imposing limestone cliffs are the habitat of griffon vultures, Bonelli´s eagles, Egyptian vultures, black wheatears or blue rock thrushes.

  • COUNTRYSIDE. Southern grey shrikes, zitting cisticolas, black-shouldered kites or lesser kestrels fill of life the vast grain fields and the olive groves

  • HUMEDALES. Marsh harriers overfly the flocks of flamingos, spoonbills and other waders. Meanwhile, hidden in the bushes, a western olivaceous warbler sings
