From Grazalema to Hotel Tambor del Llano through El Endrinal

Leave Grazalema downhill through the Medieval stone road till you arrive close to road A-372. Instead of crossing the road, stay close to the rock wall on your right. Look up! It is common to see climbers hanging there (1). Walking parallel to the A-372 you’ll rich a fence. Find a gate to its right, right before some white stones (please close it again). The path runs at the foot of the sharp walls, leaving to the left a cortijo called Casa de Peñaloja and, a bit later, also to the left the ruins of an old village (of Nazarí’s origins). The path turns slightly right and goes up the Puerto de las Cruces. The views from the top are astonishing.

Start the descent, at the end of which you’ll leave the Campobuches caserío to your left (the dogs are alright!) and, through a gate, cross the A-374 road. Open (and close) another gate into a peaceful meadow which, after crossing a marshy area, a stream and a gate, allows you to turn left into the Cañada de Campobuches. Walk parallel to the river, cross a gate, and you’ll see the old and big cork-oak that signals that you are getting close to Tambor again.

Once you are at Tambor’s fence, it is your choice to turn left to the hotel’s main entrance of keep parallel to the river to use the same gate you used to get out in TBLL1. Yes: TBLL1 and TBLL2 can be combined into a beautiful one-day circular hike!
